What are the on campus accommodation costs?

Accommodation is not included in the fees but available at an extra cost through ALT's online booking service. Rooms are available at a cost of £50 (single rate per night).

We strongly recommend that University hall accommodation is booked at the same time as registering for your place at the conference. Fees must be paid with registration otherwise hall accommodation will not be reserved for you.

What if I want to stay off campus?

A varied selection of hotel accommodation has been arranged by ALT through Travelocity Business (formerly First-Option) and is available nearby, at preferential rates. This is separate from the ALT Conference registration service. We strongly recommend that this type of accommodation is booked after your place at the conference has been confirmed. Please note that our allocation is only available until Friday 4 August 2006.

When can I get into my room?

Delegates can check into their accommodation from 1400 onwards and check out on the final morning is by 1000. On arrival, delegates will be allocated a bedroom and issued with their key/swipe card which must be returned to the James Watt Centre Reception upon departure.

Where do I collect my keys from?

For delegates staying on campus, please go to the Reception found in the James Watt Centre.

The Reception is staffed 24 hours a day.

Is there a luggage store near to my accommodation?

Luggage may be left temporarily in a number of areas:

  • the ALT conference cloakroom in the James Watt Centre;
  • the baggage room at the James Watt Centre Reception.

What facilities are available within the accommodation?

Single en suite bedroom - a modern study bedroom complete with an ensuite shower and toilet. All rooms have coffee and tea making facilities, direct dial telephone and Internet access provided by Forevision.

Is there disabled accommodation?

A number of specially-adapted rooms are available, all en-suite, which are wheelchair-accessible and should be appropriate for most major physical disabilities. Please contact ALT should you require further information or to reserve one of these rooms.

Where is breakfast served?

Breakfast is served each morning in the Middle Floor Dining Room located via the James Watt Centre.
